Hi! I'm Kat,
Craft E Kat was an accidental endeavor after I convinced my sister-in-law to let me take over her gender reveal decorations (the event planner degree taking over) and quickly realized that I want to help others with their celebrations too.
In 2022 my world was rocked by a life-threatening illness and rare disease that stripped a whole lot of joy out of life. Arts + Crafts have always been "my thing" and I soon realized I had lost the ability to hold a pencil and paintbrush. Each small victory in mobility gave me an excuse to celebrate. I quickly realized that life is too short (cliche, I know) and all of life's milestone's, big or small, deserve to be celebrated.
I joke that my favorite job I've ever had was working at Party City at IU (go Hoosiers!) but I loved being an Interior Designer before having my daughter in 2020 (Covid kids, am I right?) I have a degree in Event Planning with a 99% completed Art Minor (lol) so basically Art + Parties + Gifts + Decorating are my love language and the fuel behind Craft E Kat.
Everything in this shop is painted by hand, one at a time - usually at a pop up table in my living room or in my art studio once the house has gone quiet. You may get an invoice or message from me at 2AM while working the nightshift!
I open a limited number or orders each month. This is something I love doing and want to continue loving it! Keeping my orders small helps me stay present with my family, maintain my health and enjoy working on your custom project.
